I've searched through previous feature requests and did not see a similar topic so I figured I'd put in a request. If this has already been requested before I apologize.
I'm interested in being able to create a list where I can drill down a couple of levels so that I can organize work in a more detailed manner. I know that you can convert a task into a list now but it moves that task out of the current list and puts it at the top level which isn't really what I'm looking for.
Here is an example...
Level 1 Work Projects
Level 2 Intranet Website
Level 3 Determine dimensions/limitations/scope of website
Level 3 Create Mockups
Level 3 Take photos for design
Level 3 Build CSS Layout/Template
Level 3 Etc.
Level 2 Server Rebuild
Level 3 Gather all CDs/DVDs need for rebuild
Level 3 Download/Update Patch CD
Level 3 Backup all critical files
Level 3 Etc.
I like to work from a very general list or group and the further I drill down the more descriptive the actions/tasks become. Projects, Intranet Website and Server Rebuild are all lists. This may be overkill but it's the way my mind works and how I've become accustomed to organizing my work. Whether this is a request that fits into the framework of Scrybe or not I appreciate you taking the time to read it.
Thanks. |

Hierarchical lists have been evaluated before but I cannot quote a particular timeline for this.
For now, I'd just put down what I do when I want to have lists that I want to create sublists with.
- Create a new list.
- Enter tasks in it.
- Optional: Use the "Convert Task to List". This helps me, because sometimes, one of my tasks is like a mini list of tasks, hence we need a sub list.
- In the lists view, use the separator above and below the lists, you want to group together.
- Rename the list and add underscores to give it an indented feel.
Hope this little tip helps until hierarchies are introduced.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Good to know that hierarchical lists are on your to do list. Also thanks for the suggestion I'll try it out and see how it goes. |
