Flash 9 is still in beta for Linux.
We are sure that any glitches remaining will be resolved, once Adobe releases the final version for Linux

Check out https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/66873 for getting Flash 9 on Ubuntu. I am running it on Edgy now and I just tested the PaperSync function and it printed. The problem that I am having is that on Windows it will warn me to set the orientation to landscape but on Ubuntu it doesn't. I there a way to tell it to change the orientation if needed?
Make sure that you have selected an installed printer to be the default. Mine didn't seem to automatically do it when I installed my printer. |

Click System->Administration->Printing. When the window show the installed printers right click on the one that you want to be the default and select set as default. I don't recall the menu name item that you use to set the default but I know that it says default. I will check when I get back to work tomorrow and update this post with the correct option name. |

I'm running Dapper Drake 6.06 LTS, and I can print using Flash Player 9 beta, but not through scrybe. I tested using a known flash file with printing capabilities from here:
http://www.fetchfido.co.uk/games/sonic/sonic.htm
The flash object allowed for very poor printing at the least, in black and white, very dot-matrix-y... Attempting to print through scrybe has been a no-go since I first attempted papersync. I will attempt to print immediately after accessing the print features from known working flash objects to see how that goes.
(Edit: Okay...)
I tested printing without first going through print preview, and have managed to produce a very poor printout similar to the one printed from the object found on fetchfido. As stated earlier, it appears as though our printing issue has something to do with using landscape rather than portrait in scrybe. Perhaps there should be an option for choosing printing methods for papersync that are either landscape or portrait?
Concerning the poor print quality that I'm getting, i'll have to research that further. |

| I agree with the quality problem. Although I was able to get the page to print on Ubuntu (Edgy) using Flash 9 beta it was not very readable. Maybe once Flash comes out of beta for linux it will be better. |

| Flash 8 for Windows is fully functional. Papersync works properly. I'm guessing we'll have to wait for 9 Final, as you've suggested. |

Data point:
Ubuntu Edgy 6.10. It prints. I did have to set my default printer to get it to work. It's a little hard to read the small text of the printout. |

Does your paper size specified in your printer dialog actually match the physical paper?
For e.g. If you are using Letter Size paper for printing in your printer, whereas the paper specified in your printer dialog is A4...
This problem can be resolved once your paper settings and physical paper size match.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
New Scrybe user here and so far very happy. Unfortunately the best feature doesn't work in my situation (linux, ubuntu 7.04, flash player 9, firefox).
It was mentioned before but, does anybody know how to get it to print landscape from PaperSync? So, a dialog to come up to allow me to select landscape. I just get a message telling me that the request has been sent to the printer, and sometimes a Scrybe dialog comes up saying I should set it to landscape. But then it just starts printing...in portrait mode. So so far I have no usable results.
I've tried setting all default firefox settings to landscape orientation in 'about:config'
I've also set a default setting in the linux printer to '-o landscape'.
To no avail. It seems like the Flash player skips LP and goes straight for LPR...which as far as I know does not accept default option commands. |
